The role is responsible for managing and executing procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of food and non-food commodities and services.

The National Technical Advisor will play a central role in positioning WFP Uganda as a key humanitarian and development partner, providing tailored messaging and intelligence to position WFP’s value proposition to Government, IFIs, development partners and decision-makers.

To provide effective specialized and technical support and analysis to policy and programme activity implementation that effectively meet food systems goals.

The staff member shall be responsible for undertaking tasks related to the procurement of Goods & Services including but not limited to issuing tenders, undertake evaluations, submission of procurement cases to the relevant procurement committees, drafting contracts and preparing Purchase Orders

To implement well-defined standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.

The incumbent will work in close collaboration with Senior Management, technical units, and regional/global partnership offices to support the Country Office implement Innovation solutions at scale, reinforce WFP’s value proposition, and identify funding avenues.

To coordinate and provide finance, budget and administration support services involving the recording and interpretation of financial and budgetary information to ensure the efficient functioning of the support services and inform decision-making.

Support the Crisis Response Unit (CRU) in delivering food and nutrition assistance to refugees and vulnerable host communities through Cash-Based Transfers (CBT).

Support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital platforms used in food assistance programmes.

The job holders will be involved in RAM activities and programmes. The Monitoring assistants will work under the coordination of the Monitoring assistant (Community Engagement and Feedback Mechanism and Remote Monitoring Operators) Team lead

The Security Associate will support WFP operations in the Arua Area Office by ensuring the safety and security of staff, assets, and operations.

The successful candidate shall be responsible for the implementation of the Agricultural Insurance pilot and the roll-out and scaling of the Forecast-based Index Insurance (FII) for early response insurance products for smallholder farmers.
