Job Description
The Uganda Coordinator will be responsible for leading, organizing, and expanding SocMed Global Uganda’s programs and operations. This includes convening team meetings, managing program logistics, supporting clinical clerkships, handling course-related tasks, coordinating fundraising and grant-writing efforts, and managing administrative functions. The role also involves hosting online learning sessions using tools such as Canvas and Zoom, overseeing student logistics, and maintaining collaborative relationships with universities and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of Uganda’s healthcare and social medicine landscape.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate and expand SocMed Global Uganda’s programs and initiatives.
Lead regular team meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
Streamline internal operations and administrative procedures.
Manage logistics for students, including clerkships and course evaluations.
Host virtual classes using digital platforms such as Zoom and Canvas.
Support fundraising and grant proposal development.
Build and sustain partnerships with universities and community stakeholders.
Support budgeting and organizational reporting processes.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
Certificate in Social Medicine is an added advantage.
1–4 years of relevant experience.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
Experience with Adobe, QuickBooks, project management, and budgeting is a plus.
Demonstrated skills in grant writing and stakeholder engagement.
