Job Description
The Trade Development Representative will be primarily responsible for increasing product and service uptake by conducting regular field visits, recruiting agents, ensuring merchandising standards are maintained, and providing tools and training to support business operations. The TDR will work closely with sales agents and retailers to enhance visibility, customer acquisition, and agent performance, ensuring compliance with internal processes, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training and Know Your Customer (KYC) standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Recruit and map SSOs (Sim Selling Outlets) and T-Kash Agents, focusing on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores
Regularly visit SSOs and agents using agreed route/beat plans
Train agents and SSOs on transactional processes, AML requirements, and KYC procedures
Distribute and monitor the use of business tools and marketing materials
Enforce float and stock rules (e.g., 1.5x stock rule for agents)
Monitor SIM availability to support new registrations and activations
Ensure visibility and merchandising materials are properly deployed and maintained at all outlets
Provide feedback and reports to the Area Sales Manager
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in sales and distribution, preferably in FMCG or telecommunications sectors
Competencies:
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet field targets
