Job Description
The Theatre Assistant will support surgical operations at the Arua field site by ensuring the operating theatre is properly prepared, sterilized, and equipped for all surgical procedures.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment
- Prepare surgical trolleys for operations
- Scrub, glove, mask, and gown the surgical team
- Pass surgical instruments to the surgeon during operations
- Cut sutures, apply dressings, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the theatre and recovery room
- Ensure proper disposal of medical waste according to infection control guidelines
- Monitor and maintain theatre supplies and equipment inventory
