Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Digital Services, the Segment Manager will lead the design and execution of strategies aimed at growing MTN’s digital services portfolio, specifically Value-Added Services (VAS) such as music, gaming, and video, and Rich Media Services (RMS). The role involves managing partnerships with content providers, overseeing service delivery and performance, ensuring compliance, resolving customer issues, and contributing to product innovation. The role also supports reporting, ideation, and user acceptance testing for new services.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Identify and execute initiatives to grow VAS & RMS penetration, usage, and revenue.
Develop and manage go-to-market (GTM) strategies and ensure timely execution.
Build and manage partnerships with vendors, content providers, and aggregators.
Monitor service performance and ensure timely resolution of issues and downtime.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal policy requirements.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on performance and GTM activities.
Collaborate in the ideation and user testing of new or enhanced products.
Supervise and support team members where applicable.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field from an accredited university.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar or related role within the telecom or technology sector.
Knowledge of mobile content services (music, gaming, video).
Skills & Attributes:
Strong project and detail management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Proactive, organized, and enthusiastic with a customer-centric mindset.
High ethical standards, integrity, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
