Job Description
The La Riba Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and motivating a team of La Riba Lead Generators, ensuring they are equipped with the tools, training, and knowledge to deliver Shari’ah-compliant financial solutions. The role includes overseeing daily sales activities, monitoring team performance, supervising campaigns, and ensuring operational compliance with both regulatory and Islamic banking standards. The manager will also work closely with Regional Sales Managers and corporate clients to unlock new business opportunities, provide tailored financial literacy training, and expand La Riba’s market presence. Additionally, the role includes supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, disciplinary processes, and ensuring continuous team development.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Coaching (40%): Lead and supervise La Riba Lead Generators, set targets, monitor performance, oversee field activities, manage leave schedules, and conduct disciplinary processes where necessary.
Sales Management (30%): Drive sales target achievement, oversee campaigns, distribute Shari’ah-compliant marketing materials, monitor performance dashboards, and ensure alignment with La Riba values.
Business Expansion (10%): Collaborate with regional managers to conduct corporate sales activations, organize financial literacy training sessions, and generate leads for new company sign-ups.
Operational Rigour & Compliance (10%): Ensure accurate documentation for all La Riba products, enforce regulatory and Shari’ah compliance, manage risk, maintain green audit status, and oversee exit processes for departing staff.
Team Development & Knowledge Sharing (5%): Share best practices, deputize for the Regional Sales Manager when needed, and contribute to the professional growth of the team.
Personal Development (5%): Participate in professional training programs, agree on annual objectives with the Regional Sales Manager, and enhance expertise in Islamic banking, sales leadership, and compliance.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (required).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or related field preferred.
At least 5 years’ experience in sales management or financial services leadership.
Strong knowledge of Islamic banking principles (Shari’ah compliance).
Proven track record in sales leadership, portfolio growth, and team management.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales management tools.
Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate high-performing teams.
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
