Job Description
The Accountant will oversee financial accounting, reporting, taxation, and statutory compliance. Responsibilities include recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, managing fixed assets and inventory, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with audit and tax requirements. The role requires preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, supporting external audits, identifying process improvements, and liaising with auditors, tax consultants, and banks. The Accountant will also ensure timely filing of statutory returns and support continuous financial control improvements to strengthen organizational efficiency.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Record day-to-day financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements, resolving discrepancies.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Maintain fixed asset registers and perform periodic verification.
Post depreciation, monitor asset disposals, additions, and transfers.
Prepare financial reports and assist in month-end and year-end closings.
Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.
File statutory returns and ensure timely payment of obligations.
Support tax audits and respond to tax queries.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification (partly or fully qualified).
Experience
Minimum of 5 years in auditing and accounting (internal/external audit and financial accounting roles).
Proficiency in Tally and ERPNext accounting systems.
Experience working in multi-currency environments.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of accounting principles, audit procedures, and tax regulations.
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Experience in process improvement and automation.
High integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure, independently, or in a team setting.
Proactive and willing to take initiative and responsibility.
