Job Description

Reporting to the CSP Manager, the Key Account Manager will lead customer strategy and business planning for modern trade accounts. This includes developing business plans, managing P&L, negotiating trade terms, implementing promotional strategies, and monitoring performance. The position requires close collaboration with the marketing, customer strategy, and planning teams to ensure efficient operations and delivery of category strategies. The Key Account Manager will also conduct detailed analyses to drive decision-making, manage promotional investments, track market share, and ensure effective in-store execution. Leadership, curiosity, and a growth mindset are essential to succeed in this role.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customer strategies and business plans for modern trade.

  • Achieve turnover and P&L objectives for assigned accounts.

  • Collaborate with marketing and customer strategy teams to align category strategies.

  • Design and manage integrated promotional plans and negotiate trade terms.

  • Conduct analyses on sales data, new product development, and customer performance.

  • Monitor sales performance, market share, and provide insights to support decisions.

  • Drive joint business planning and build strong customer partnerships.

  • Ensure effective merchandising, in-store execution, and shopper marketing.

  • Provide leadership and coaching to foster growth within the customer team.

  • Promote Unilever’s standards of leadership, sustainability, and consumer love.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

  • 3–4 years of experience in customer management or modern trade account management.

  • At least 4 years in a customer-facing role managing Tier 1 supermarkets.

  • Strong planning, analytical, and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in merchandising, joint business planning, and shopper marketing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
