Organization: De Heus
Location: Njeru Plant (near Jinja), Uganda
Role Overview
The HR and Facilities Officer will provide essential support for daily HR operations and oversee facility management to ensure efficient administrative processes, compliance with HR policies, and a safe, well-maintained work environment for all staff and external service providers.

How to Apply
Human Resource Management:
Administer HR records, employee files, and HRIS systems.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Monitor attendance, leave, and timekeeping systems.
Support training coordination and internal employee communications.
Promote a positive workplace culture and contribute to CSR initiatives.
Facilities Management:
Coordinate outsourced services such as cleaning, security, gardening, and waste disposal.
Manage office furniture inventory, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed, and report safety issues to HSSE.
Oversee office maintenance and repairs, liaising with approved service providers to minimize operational disruptions.
Support management of service contracts related to HR, cleaning, maintenance, and administration.
Conduct routine inspections to identify facility maintenance needs and coordinate minor repairs.
Ensure uninterrupted utility services (water, electricity, waste) and timely payment of bills.
Maintain inventory and records of facility supplies including toiletries, furniture, and safety equipment.
Collaborate with the HSE Officer to support health, safety, and fire prevention compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
2–3 years’ experience in a combined HR and administrative/facilities role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
High integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with HRIS or operational tracking tools is a plus.
Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage third-party service providers.
