Job Description
The Field Operations Engineer will attend to faults, perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with support teams, monitor network health, propose network improvements, conduct site commissioning with vendors, compile and submit technical reports, and investigate causes of link failures. The engineer ensures that maintenance activities are completed efficiently and network standards are upheld, contributing to operational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Attend to equipment faults logged through the trouble ticket (TT) system in line with corrective maintenance KPIs.
Perform preventive routine maintenance checks on equipment and environments.
Coordinate with Support and NMC teams during fault analysis to ensure timely resolution and communication.
Propose improvement actions to enhance network structure and reliability.
Execute preventive maintenance programs accurately and report on activities.
Conduct new site commissioning tests jointly with vendors, ensuring standards compliance.
Compile and submit maintenance-related reports daily.
Investigate and establish causes of link failures, submitting Reason for Outage (RCA) forms with evidence when required.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication.
Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt Certification.
CCNA Certification.
Valid Driving License.
Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in transmission network maintenance.
Technical Competencies
Proficiency in Network Management Systems.
Radio rigging expertise.
Knowledge of GSM 2G/3G/4G architecture.
Strong understanding of BSS/Transmission technology.
Competence in Microsoft Office tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Customer focus and excellent planning and organizing abilities.
