Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining drones to ensure their readiness for operations. They will manage drone inventory, assist in procurement processes, operate drones for various missions, maintain operational data, train team members, and ensure compliance with aviation and safety standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of drones.
Perform preventive maintenance to extend drone lifespan and minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and servicing schedules.
Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers for technical support and spare parts.
Ensure compliance with safety and KCAA maintenance regulations.
Operate drones for missions such as data collection, surveying, and photography.
Plan and execute flights adhering to mission and safety requirements.
Manage and securely store mission data.
Track drone inventory, spare parts, and consumables.
Assist procurement team in ordering parts and managing logistics.
Schedule drone system calibrations and upgrades.
Support training sessions for team members and clients in drone operations and maintenance.
Stay updated on drone technologies and operational procedures.
Participate in quality assurance activities and internal/external audits.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Certificate of Good Conduct.
Valid Remote Pilot License (RPL).
Training in drone maintenance (e.g., DJI Maintenance Technician certification) is an added advantage.
Valid Driver’s License.
At least 2 years of experience in drone maintenance and operations.
Experience in aviation maintenance or as a drone pilot is highly desirable.
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Familiarity with data management systems for operational logs.
