Job Description
The Cleaning Supervisor and Cleaning Team Leader will be responsible for establishing cleaning protocols, assigning duties to cleaning staff, monitoring the use of cleaning materials and equipment, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness. The role involves training and coaching the cleaning team, performing regular equipment inspections, and supporting staff in executing their roles effectively. The candidate must have prior experience in a hospital or clinical environment and demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Establish cleaning standards and procedures and ensure staff compliance
Coach, supervise, and mentor cleaners to improve performance
Schedule and assign specific cleaning tasks to staff
Inspect cleaning equipment regularly and request replacements as needed
Monitor and control the use of cleaning supplies to avoid waste
Assist cleaning staff with complex or sensitive cleaning tasks
Ensure hygiene protocols are followed, especially in healthcare environments
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
BTEC Higher National Diploma, Diploma of Higher Education, or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in cleaning services
Background in hospital or healthcare cleaning is required
Strong leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage cleaning schedules and resource allocation
Basic computer literacy
