Job Description
The role of the Kitchen Steward includes cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. The steward operates dishwashing machines, manages kitchen waste and recycling procedures, and helps maintain a hygienic food preparation environment. Additional responsibilities include basic food preparation, maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, and supporting smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house operations. The position requires attentiveness to detail, efficiency in managing kitchen tools and supplies, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a hospital environment.

How to Apply
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces
Operate dishwashing machines and ensure dishes are spotless
Manage waste disposal and recycling in line with sustainability practices
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and reorder as necessary
Assist chefs with basic food preparation (e.g., washing, peeling, cutting)
Ensure proper storage of food supplies to prevent spoilage
Inspect kitchen and equipment for repair and maintenance needs
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Minimum of a High School Diploma or Vocational Training Certificate
At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment
Strong understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards
Ability to operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment
Good teamwork and communication skills
Physical stamina and attention to detail
Basic food handling knowledge
Familiarity with environmental and health safety regulations
