Job Overview
This position serves as the primary strategic role for establishing project traveler connectivity to and from Uganda (Kampala and site) using commercial airlines. The Travel Specialist: manages the coordination of domestic and international flights in compliance with company policy and governmental regulations, Balances workforce requirements and supervises lower level personnel.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Works within the MDR travel teams to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service.

  • Manages all domestic and international airline commercial connectivity, large events, and VIP missions.

  • Generates and analyze monthly statistical reports.

  • Assists with preparation of budgets.

Essential Qualifications and Education

  • Experience working in Travel customer service or related customer-oriented environment, with excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all travel arrangements and documentation.

  • Ability to process complex international transactions through the GDS.-AMADEUS.

  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions.

  • Performs more complex functions, understands principles, and may teach others.

  • Ability to use various department specific computer programs.

  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

  • Knowledge of appropriate industry.
