Job Description
Transaction Monitoring Analyst
Location: Uganda
Organization: KCB Bank Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Review transaction alerts generated by risk management systems based on predefined parameters.
Take appropriate action on suspicious or potentially fraudulent transactions.
Investigate alerts to determine legitimacy, categorizing transactions as genuine or fraudulent, and address any exceptions identified.
Contact customers to verify and clarify suspected transaction activities.
Maintain and update the relevant Risk Register or Case Register, and submit updates to the Risk or Forensics teams as required.
Configure and periodically review rules and parameters within the Transaction and Fraud Management Systems to ensure effectiveness.
Monitor and analyze emerging digital fraud trends, providing insights for proactive risk mapping and mitigation.
Review and manage confirmed or reported fraud cases within the case management system, ensuring timely action and resolution.
Analyze transaction patterns and anomalies identified through the service monitoring tools.
Prepare and submit transaction monitoring and fraud analysis reports to management and the forensics team as required.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
a) Academic & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field (required).
Professional certifications in Banking, Accounting, or related disciplines (added advantage).
Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Statistics (added advantage).
b) Experience
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, preferably in:
Banking Operations
Card/Digital Services Operations
Risk Management
People and Stakeholder Management
