Job Description

The Technical Sales Representative accelerates introduction and adoption of new and existing vegetable varieties by organizing demo trials, capturing performance feedback, and translating results into clear product positioning with Marketing, Trialing, and BU teams. The role executes campaign priorities, manages the sales funnel and forecast, builds distributor/young-plant-raiser capability, and serves as the technical reference for assigned crops and area. Success is measured by revenue vs. brand plans, forecast accuracy, demand generation outcomes, key account growth, and high-quality reporting via CRM.

How to Apply

  • People & collaboration: Mentor field agronomists; partner with R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain; represent Syngenta at industry events and farmer meetings.

  • Analysis & reporting: Track market data, sales trends, and trial outcomes; maintain CRM; provide recommendations to drive financial success.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and internal quality standards.

Minimum education & knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or crop-related field.

  • Deep understanding of Kenyan vegetable market dynamics and production cycles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM; strong data analysis/reporting skills.

Experience required

  • 5+ years in the vegetable seed industry.

  • Proven technical support to growers/distributors; strong NPI and demo-trial execution.

  • Track record meeting/exceeding sales targets; key account growth; successful launches.

  • Experience crafting territory-specific sales strategies and demand-gen activities.

  • Stakeholder management across farmers, distributors, industry partners; effective cross-functional collaboration.

Core competencies

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills.

  • Strong agronomic problem-solving (pest/disease management).

  • Planning, organization, and forecast discipline; integrity and resilience.
