Job Description
Reporting to the Consulting Senior, you will assist in planning and executing risk consulting fieldwork; assess control design and operating effectiveness; document evidence; analyze data for trends and anomalies; and draft clear findings, observations, and recommendations. You’ll help build risk/control matrices and audit programs, prepare client deliverables (reports & presentations), perform follow-up audits, research regulatory/industry risks, and collaborate across engagements—owning assigned tasks, meeting timelines, and participating in training and feedback cycles.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist with risk assessments, internal audits, forensic/investigative audits, process reviews, data analytics, and compliance checks.
Execute fieldwork within agreed timelines; evaluate control design/adequacy and effectiveness.
Document working papers and evidence; recommend improvements and process enhancements.
Prepare sections of reports, audit observations, and client presentations.
Conduct follow-up reviews to confirm remediation of agreed actions.
Research industry risks, regulations, and best practices; support development of risk/control matrices and audit programs.
Analyze datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and areas of concern.
Collaborate with team members across multiple engagements; take ownership of assigned tasks.
Seek feedback and engage in continuous learning; perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional certification preferred: ACCA/CPA (Kenya)—ongoing or completed; CIA/CISA are advantages.
Up to 2 years’ experience (audit exposure is a plus).
Familiarity with Kenyan regulatory frameworks desirable; multicultural teamwork experience valued.
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
High integrity, professionalism, curiosity, and a growth mindset; able to work independently and in teams.
