Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Team Lead Reconciliation is responsible for leading a team in performing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reconciliations of financial accounts. The role requires reviewing reconciliation proofs, resolving discrepancies with stakeholders, implementing corrective actions, and optimizing reconciliation processes. The Team Lead will generate reconciliation reports, support audits, ensure compliance with controls, and provide training and mentorship to new and existing team members.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with departments such as Finance, Branches, IT, and Operations

  • Implement and monitor corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues

  • Prepare and analyze reconciliation reports to detect risks and suggest improvements

  • Handle audit queries and ensure internal control compliance

  • Train new team members in reconciliation processes and best practices

  • Promote a collaborative team environment with a focus on continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable university

  • Professional qualification in banking or accounting is an added advantage

  • Prior experience in reconciliation or a similar banking role is desirable

Key Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of banking products and operations

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong leadership and administrative skills

  • Excellent customer service orientation

  • Proficiency in computer applications
