Senior Manager, Custodial Services job at Equity Bank
Job Description
To develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the custodial services operational & sales strategy across the Bank, enhance business growth, drive initiatives that enhance client relations and ensure operational efficiency and service delivery in line with Equity Bank's business growth strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the custodial services team, including supervisors, leads, and frontline staff. Set clear expectations, goals, and performance standards for team members and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Staff Management: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of custodial staff. Assign responsibilities, delegate tasks, and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Workflow Planning and Optimization: Develop and implement efficient workflows, schedules, and procedures for custodial services to maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and meet service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
Facility Maintenance: Manage the day-to-day operations of custodial services, including cleaning and maintenance activities for facilities, buildings, and common areas. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, sanitation guidelines, and environmental standards.
Inventory and Supplies Management: Oversee inventory management, procurement, and supply chain logistics for cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials. Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and replenish stock as needed to support custodial operations.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and expenditures for custodial services. Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate vendor contracts, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial objectives and control expenses.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Establish and maintain quality assurance programs and performance metrics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of custodial services. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards, regulations, and customer expectations.
Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, tenants, and stakeholders regarding custodial services. Collaborate with building managers, facility owners, and tenants to address service requests, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to support custodial operations. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service agreements and contractual obligations.
Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Develop and implement emergency response plans, procedures, and protocols for custodial services. Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to address emergencies, disasters, or unforeseen events affecting facility operations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and optimization in custodial services. Implement best practices, technologies, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports, dashboards, and documentation on custodial operations, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Training and Development: Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for custodial staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and competencies. Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement within the custodial services team.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and protocols in custodial operations. Promote a safe work environment, conduct safety training, and enforce safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications and Competencies
A Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting. Business Administration/ Commerce or related field from an accredited institution.
Certification in Securities and investment services such as CISI or a Securities Industry Certification from Capital Markets & Securities Authority (CMSA) is required.
At least 8 years progressive experience in the financial markets industry with exposure in Custodial & Investment Services.
Experience in sales & marketing within custodial services and fund management transaction settlement is mandatory.
Sound knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements of corporate governance, business and banking operations.
Good knowledge of money markets, equity trading, margin trading and other capital market instruments.
