Job Description
The Risk Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments across financial, operational, strategic, and compliance areas. The role involves analyzing key risk indicators and market intelligence to identify emerging risks, supporting the development and implementation of ERM frameworks, maintaining the enterprise risk register, and preparing risk reports for executive leadership and regulatory bodies. The analyst will also monitor compliance, enhance the risk culture across the organization through training, and support the use of risk tools and systems. Additional responsibilities include evaluating the effectiveness of risk controls and staying updated on industry regulations and evolving risk areas like ESG and cyber threats.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across the business.
Analyze key risk indicators (KRIs), performance data, and market trends.
Develop and improve risk management frameworks and policies.
Maintain and update the enterprise risk register.
Collaborate with various departments to address cross-functional risks.
Prepare and present risk reports to management, boards, and regulators.
Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., IFRS 17, ORSA).
Support the integration of risk tools and systems.
Facilitate organization-wide risk training and awareness workshops.
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk mitigation controls.
Stay informed about reinsurance trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Insurance, or a related field.
Progress towards professional certification in risk, finance, or insurance is desirable.
2–4 years of experience in risk management, preferably in reinsurance or financial services.
Knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with regional/international regulatory environments and solvency frameworks.
