Job Description
Reporting to the Deputy Director – Asset Recovery and Civil Litigation, the Paralegal Clerk II will be responsible for assisting in the filing and service of court pleadings, conducting official searches, managing correspondence, organizing legal files, and ensuring timely preparation of legal documents. The role supports Commission lawyers and liaises with courts, registries, and external agencies to facilitate smooth legal operations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with legal administrative knowledge and strong organizational skills.

How to Apply
Filing pleadings at court registries to support litigation processes
Updating legal statutes as necessary for case references
Serving court processes to relevant parties
Conducting official searches in registries including Companies, Lands, Motor Vehicles, and Government Printers
Managing correspondence and accepting/acknowledging service of legal documents
Ensuring safe custody, filing, and retrieval of legal files and records
Updating the Legal Directorate’s Court Diary to support legal case tracking
Opening, maintaining, and closing case files as needed
Liaising with auctioneers to facilitate asset recovery and cost processes
Typing legal notices, letters, and drafting decrees and orders for service
Registering and collecting legal documents from relevant registries
Fixing hearing dates in various courts and ensuring documentation is submitted on time
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in Law from a recognized institution
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C or equivalent
Certified Court Process Server
Experience:
At least four (4) years of relevant experience in a reputable organization
Additional Requirements:
Certificate in computer application skills
Core Competencies:
Solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation
Strong organizational and filing skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
