Job Description

The Project Manager will develop work plans, protocols, and budgets aligned with project objectives, coordinate administrative and logistical arrangements, and represent AKU in meetings with donors, partners, and community stakeholders. The position will oversee recruitment and monitoring of staff performance, ensure compliance with research ethics, and provide mentorship to project teams. The manager will also track progress through monitoring and reporting, prepare donor updates, oversee financial accountability, and ensure effective stakeholder communication.

How to Apply

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience:

  • 3–5 years progressive experience in project management within research, healthcare, or public health.

  • Proven experience in donor-funded projects, including budgeting, compliance, and reporting.

  • Experience coordinating multi-partner or large-scale projects.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Research Ethics, Data Governance, and Monitoring & Evaluation.

  • Familiarity with AI applications in healthcare and infection prevention is an added advantage.

  • Strong digital literacy with reporting and visualization tools.

  • Ability to adapt, solve problems, and manage risks in dynamic project environments.
