Job Description
The Assistant Operations Officer will oversee and support day-to-day operational tasks related to stock and distribution management. This includes monitoring stock levels, coordinating logistics, processing procurement requests, maintaining delivery and supplier records, and preparing operations reports. The position requires close collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent problem-solving abilities, and have some experience in agrovet or agribusiness operations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely stock replenishment.
Coordinate logistics and ensure efficient product distribution.
Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation of all dispatches.
Assist in preparing and placing purchase orders.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and product quality.
Verify incoming stock for quality and quantity, and update inventory accordingly.
Handle inquiries from the sales team regarding availability, pricing, and delivery.
Maintain organized documentation for inventory, procurement, and deliveries.
Prepare and submit reports on inventory status, procurement, and distribution efficiency.
Track and manage expired stock, returns, transfers, and storage.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year experience in operations, logistics, or agrovet-related business.
Familiarity with agro-inputs such as seeds, pesticides, and veterinary products is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory management systems.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
