Job Description
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for handling procurement requisitions, tenders, bids, and supplier contracts in line with organizational policies and service level agreements. The role involves contract management, risk assessment, supplier relationship management, and ensuring the timely renewal of contracts. The position requires working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, develop specifications, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. The specialist will also prepare procurement reports, analyze cost models, and ensure compliance with the Public Procurement Act and the bank’s procurement guidelines.

How to Apply
Process procurement requisitions and orders in line with service level agreements.
Invite, assess, and recommend supplier tenders, quotations, bids, and proposals.
Establish and negotiate supplier contract terms and maintain strong relationships.
Maintain procurement records and prepare periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for audit purposes.
Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and analyze cost-effectiveness models.
Support stakeholders in determining procurement needs, specifications, and delivery requirements.
Ensure timely renewal of supplier contracts for ongoing services.
Administer contract performance including delivery, receipt, warranties, damages, and penalties.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance frameworks, and best practices.
Provide procurement progress updates and guidance to internal users.
Draft management tender reports for review by line managers.
Initiate and implement branch support initiatives as necessary.
Support procurement department operations in the absence of line managers.
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Registered with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) at Graduate Level.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement and contract management.
Knowledge of procurement regulations, Public Procurement Act, and NMB’s operating policies.
Strong business understanding of procurement, supply chain, and profitability.
Excellent negotiation, planning, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer applications and procurement systems.
Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
High level of integrity, ethical judgment, and ability to facilitate change.
