Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Officer, the Procurement Officer will manage requisitions, negotiate pricing, track orders, and monitor stock to avoid shortages. The role involves identifying new suppliers, conducting due diligence, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards, and evaluating supplier performance. The Procurement Officer will prepare purchasing reports, maintain proper records, and ensure timely deliveries. Active participation in inventory audits and collaboration with user departments will be key to achieving Avenue Healthcare’s supply chain objectives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Receive and process requisitions from user departments.
Monitor and replenish stocks in line with procurement guidelines.
Conduct pricing negotiations with suppliers and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Source for new suppliers and perform due diligence on potential vendors.
Undertake market surveys and gather intelligence to support purchasing decisions.
Evaluate supplier performance and review contract compliance monthly.
Track stock holding and ensure timely sourcing of requested items.
Oversee daily tracking of orders and follow up for timely deliveries.
Prepare monthly purchasing, savings, and inventory reports.
Process payment documentation accurately and promptly.
Maintain proper filing systems and ensure record-keeping compliance.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business-related field.
Membership with CIPS or KISM.
Experience
At least 3 years’ experience in supply chain management, preferably in a hospital environment.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of supply chain procedures and inventory management.
Analytical and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in computer applications.
