Job Description
Job Title: People and Culture Manager
Organization: FSD Uganda
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Reports To: Chief Operations Officer
About the Role
FSD Uganda is seeking a dynamic and strategic People and Culture Manager to lead its human resources and organizational development functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing both human and physical resources, aligning people strategies with the organization’s mission, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws and donor requirements.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR and Resource Planning
Partner with the Chief Operations Officer to forecast and meet staffing needs.
Align HR planning with organizational budgets and strategic goals.
2. Talent Management and Staff Development
Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and capacity building.
Ensure compliance with Ugandan labor laws and donor policies.
Develop and implement training and staff development initiatives.
3. Policy Development and Compliance
Create and regularly update HR policies, including those related to health, safety, security, and risk.
Communicate policies effectively and provide administrative support for implementation.
4. Organizational Culture and Employee Engagement
Cultivate a positive workplace culture that encourages engagement, retention, and staff well-being.
Drive leadership and team development initiatives to support organizational growth.
5. Administration and Office Management
Oversee physical office operations including safety, security, and maintenance.
Manage fleet operations, procurement, and office supplies to support daily functions.
6. Internal Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
Implement mechanisms for employee feedback and participation in decision-making.
Act as a liaison between staff and management on culture-related initiatives.
