Job Description
This role focuses on driving operational improvements and efficiency within Standard Bank by identifying automation opportunities and implementing process enhancements. The officer will support data integration, automation of datasets, and development of visualizations to improve insights for decision-making. Additionally, the role involves assisting in project management initiatives, supporting application development, and ensuring alignment with Lean and Six Sigma principles. The Officer will work collaboratively across departments to advance the data governance framework, strengthen compliance, and embed a culture of continuous process improvement.

Identify, design, and implement automation opportunities to improve operational processes.
Analyse workflows and systems to recommend process improvement initiatives.
Support data governance initiatives, including coordinating the Data Governance Council.
Develop and manage data integration pipelines (ETL) and create automated datasets.
Produce data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI.
Assist in application development and provide technical support where needed.
Support project management activities aligned with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Monitor emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions for efficiency.
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to embed operational excellence practices.
Document processes, improvements, and outcomes to ensure knowledge sharing.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Management, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
1–2 years’ experience in operations, automation, or process improvement.
Hands-on experience in intelligent automation and data integration (ETL).
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
Exposure to application development.
Project management experience; Lean/Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage.
Competencies
Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvements.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and IT systems.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting abilities.
Proactive, innovative, and results-driven mindset.
