Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Entebbe Representative Office, the Member Service Representative will serve as the first point of contact for members. The role requires understanding member needs, delivering personalized solutions, processing financial transactions, and handling inquiries efficiently. The incumbent will also support the administrative operations of UNFCU’s offices in Entebbe and Kampala, conduct outreach and presentations, and ensure compliance with local and international banking regulations. The position demands strong service orientation, problem-solving ability, and cultural sensitivity to serve a diverse, global membership base.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Provide exceptional member service at all touchpoints, ensuring a memorable and consistent experience.
Build relationships with members by asking relevant questions, identifying needs, and offering appropriate UNFCU products and services.
Act as a trusted advisor to members, presenting financial solutions to meet current and future needs.
Investigate and resolve issues with accounts or loans in a timely manner, providing updates to members.
Verify eligibility of prospective members and process new memberships, accounts, and loan applications.
Respond to member inquiries via telephone, email, and correspondence.
Maintain strict confidentiality of member account information.
Support administrative office functions, including clerical and reception duties.
Conduct member presentations and service calls within Entebbe and outside duty stations when required.
Ensure compliance with UNFCU policies, local and international regulations, and BSA/AML/OFAC requirements.
Participate actively in Credit Union training programs and professional development initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a financial institution.
Knowledge of retail banking products and services is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Familiarity with banking regulations related to accounts, lending, confidentiality, and compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional applications.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills with tact, diplomacy, and cultural sensitivity.
