Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Central Operations, the Cash Centre Manager will coordinate, control, and organize all cash centre activities. This includes developing and enforcing cash management policies, ensuring proper reconciliation and balancing of cash accounts, overseeing cash in transit services, and adhering to Bank of Uganda (BOU) cash management guidelines. The role requires strong leadership, high ethical standards, and the ability to manage risks while maintaining operational excellence.

How to Apply
Develop, implement, and enforce cash management policies, processes, and procedures to mitigate risks.
Identify process gaps within the Cash Centre and implement system enhancements.
Report and escalate cash discrepancies to the Head of Central Operations and relevant stakeholders.
Reconcile and balance cash accounts, resolving any outstanding items in a timely manner.
Investigate and resolve cash-related queries promptly, keeping stakeholders updated.
Manage and coordinate cash in transit services for branches and customers.
Supervise, train, and motivate cash centre staff while identifying training needs.
Review service reports to detect service failures and enforce corrective measures.
Ensure effective management of service providers, including validation of invoices.
Enforce key and cash management controls such as dual control and monthly surprise checks.
Act as custodian of the central cash vault and primary key custodian.
Ensure compliance with Bank of Uganda cash management guidelines.
Prepare and submit operational reports on cash centre activities and developments.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Training: Certification in basic banking and cash management practices.
Experience: At least 6 years of experience in a financial institution, with at least 3 years in branch operations.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of cash management and risk control practices.
Ability to manage cash requirements and balance insurance limits.
Supervisory and training experience with effective organizational skills.
Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
High integrity, accuracy, and speed in handling cash operations.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
