Job Description
As Branch Manager, you will oversee all aspects of branch operations, including financial performance, risk management, and customer service. You will lead and mentor a team of banking professionals, develop strategies to achieve branch growth targets, build strong customer and stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The position also requires implementing new banking products and services, analyzing performance data, and resolving complex customer issues.

Develop and implement strategies to achieve branch performance and growth objectives.
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of banking professionals to deliver high-quality customer service.
Manage the branch’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Mwanza market.
Ensure compliance with banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
Oversee risk management and maintain the security of branch operations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and community stakeholders.
Collaborate with other departments to roll out new products, services, and initiatives.
Analyze branch performance data and prepare reports for senior management.
Address and resolve escalated or complex customer complaints.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Banking certifications are an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking or financial services, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Prior experience in business banking or business development is an added advantage.
Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams.
Skills & Competencies
Strong financial acumen and branch profitability management experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make sound decisions and solve complex problems.
Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, and risk management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English and Swahili preferred.
