Job Description
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler III will be responsible for creating comprehensive work packages and turnaround job plans covering mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and related systems. This role involves cost estimation, coordination with contractors and internal teams, compliance with safety and quality standards, schedule optimization, milestone planning, and post-turnaround review. The planner will be expected to apply deep technical expertise and leadership to ensure all turnaround activities align with ExxonMobil’s procedures and are executed effectively.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop detailed job plans for all mechanical and related resources
Plan work activities for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Include resource requirements, safety plans, repair procedures, drawings, specs, and cost estimates
Use Gantt charts and other scheduling tools to map out full job cycles
Coordinate planning and execution of turnaround activities
Review and validate plans with execution and contractor teams
Conduct walkdowns and confirm readiness through safety reviews
Generate punchlists and track milestone achievements
Analyze and adjust schedules with feedback and real-time updates
Facilitate critical path and near-critical path analysis
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational guidelines
Create and manage work packages, logistics, mobilization, and demobilization plans
Participate in post-turnaround walk-throughs and integrate best practices
Coordinate contractor selection, material orders, and site readiness
Engage in safety meetings and enforce use of PPE and fall protection
Maintain up-to-date communication regarding field changes, budgets, and progress
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Engineering or related discipline; MSc/MBA is a plus
15–25 years of experience in maintenance or turnaround planning in oil and gas
Strong knowledge in piping, welding, boiler-making, electrical, instrumentation, and rotating equipment
Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams
Skilled in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Gantt chart scheduling tools
Trained in ExxonMobil permit systems, PSSR, and safety procedures
Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure on-time, safe project delivery
Physically fit to handle field visits, SCBA usage, PPE, and working at heights
