Job Description
The Fluids Advisor III will support drilling and completions operations by providing oversight of fluids, solids control, and waste management. Responsibilities include forecasting material and equipment needs, ensuring optimal equipment performance, preparing fluid reports, and collaborating on cementing operations. The role also includes auditing vendors, ensuring material data accuracy, managing inventory, and improving fluid-related processes for efficient and safe drilling.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Provide technical support for the selection, design, and management of drilling and completion fluids.
Supervise proper labeling and documentation of fluid materials.
Monitor and optimize performance of solids control equipment.
Forecast fluid material and spare part requirements and report inventory status.
Optimize storage space and fluid costs.
Submit accurate daily fluid reports with recommendations.
Collaborate on cementing operations and support drilling engineers in writing cementing programs.
Monitor and evaluate cementing vendor performance and lab testing of cement slurries.
Audit vendor processes and facilities to ensure compliance with standards.
Identify and resolve non-conformance issues related to cementing.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
Experience:
15 to 20 years of experience in fluids, solids control, and waste management.
Previous international assignments and experience in deepwater drilling operations (1,000m+).
Familiarity with water-based, non-aqueous, and various completion fluids.
Key Competencies:
Expertise in solids control equipment and fluid inventory management.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other technical tools.
Ability to troubleshoot, audit, and ensure compliance with technical standards.
Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
