Job Description
This role is central to the growth and performance of Standard Bank’s agency banking portfolio. The Lead, Agency Banking will design, implement, and monitor strategies to ensure the agent network grows sustainably and profitably. The role includes responsibility for managing relationships with agents and stakeholders, ensuring quality service delivery, and driving productivity and customer engagement within the channel. The position requires close monitoring of sales, acquisition, retention, and distribution metrics while implementing innovative solutions to meet revenue targets.

Drive agency banking sales, acquisition, and retention strategies to meet revenue targets.
Design and implement agency banking business models aligned with the bank’s vision.
Monitor and analyze the performance of the agency banking business and report to senior management.
Expand and manage the agent network across different regions.
Enhance customer experience by increasing the number of transacting customers within the channel.
Develop and drive productivity management initiatives within the agency banking business.
Manage relationships with agents, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure business continuity.
Provide leadership, training, and support to the agency banking team.
Ensure compliance with banking procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the agency banking channel
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Commerce, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
3–4 years’ experience in personal and private banking.
Proven experience in sales and marketing within a busy commercial environment.
At least 5 years at a supervisory or managerial level in financial services.
Competencies
Strong skills in business communication and campaign management.
In-depth knowledge of banking products, processes, and customer experience.
Ability to interpret data and use insights to drive decision-making.
Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Innovative, results-oriented, and capable of seizing growth opportunities.
High ethical standards and ability to uphold integrity in business operations.
