Job Description
Launched on 3rd June 2025, Climate Workx is a revitalized version of the previous Kazi Mtaani program. It focuses on engaging Kenyan youth in environmental and infrastructure-related public works. Participants will undertake tasks such as road maintenance and tree planting in partnership with agencies like the Kenya Forest Service (KFS). The project not only serves as a source of income but also as a stepping stone for youth to transition into business, education, or long-term employment.
The initiative prioritizes inclusivity and community development, offering fair daily wages to workers and supervisors. Former and ex-NYS recruits will be given preference for supervisory roles.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Road maintenance and repair
Tree planting and forest conservation activities
Seedling production and seedbed preparation
Other environmental and climate resilience support tasks
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Must be a Kenyan citizen aged between 18–35 years
Only one applicant per household is allowed
Former and ex-NYS (National Youth Service) recruits will be prioritized for supervisor roles
Commitment to community development and teamwork
Physically able to perform manual labor tasks
Demonstrated interest in environmental conservation is an added advantage
