Job Description
The Insurance Specialist will be responsible for representing and selling the company’s commercial insurance products through direct, face-to-face engagement with businesses. This includes identifying potential clients, presenting product solutions, and closing sales to meet preset targets. The role demands an in-depth understanding of insurance products, compliance standards, and customer service excellence. Additionally, the Specialist will recruit and manage their own team, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive performance through coaching and mentorship. The ideal candidate must possess strong administrative, leadership, and communication skills, and should be proficient in reporting, analytics, and Microsoft Office tools.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Represent and promote the company’s commercial insurance offerings.
Visit clients to present, demonstrate, and sell products.
Achieve pre-set sales targets through direct marketing efforts.
Recruit and manage your own sales team.
Coach, mentor, and enable the team for optimal performance.
Monitor compliance and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Analyse performance data and provide insights to management.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
Provide system and product support to team members.
Build and manage long-term insurance portfolios.
Maintain professionalism and high-quality administrative support.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
NQF Level 4 (Matric/Standard 10)
FAIS credits / Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on DOFA)
Regulatory Exam (RE5) completed
NQF Level 5 and 6 qualifications are advantageous
Own motor vehicle and valid Code B driver’s license
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry
Minimum 3 years of face-to-face client engagement

Goal and results-driven
Strong leadership and coaching ability
Self-motivated, disciplined, and analytical
Ability to multitask and handle pressure
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
