About the Role

MOGO Uganda is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Officer to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing core HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, payroll administration, policy compliance, and performance management.

As a key member of the HR team, you’ll contribute to building a productive and engaged workforce aligned with MOGO’s values and goals.

How to Apply

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.

  • Draft job descriptions and coordinate with hiring managers to meet staffing needs.

  • Ensure recruitment processes are aligned with company policies and labor regulations.

2. Employee Records & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records, both physical and digital.

  • Track attendance, leave, and employment history.

  • Prepare and manage employment contracts, ensuring staff are well-informed on terms and conditions.

3. Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Support payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursements.

  • Administer employee benefits such as medical insurance, welfare programs, and statutory contributions.

4. Policy & Compliance

  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.

  • Ensure organizational compliance with Uganda’s labor laws and internal standards.

  • Advise managers and staff on policy interpretation and HR best practices.

5. Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and help coordinate relevant learning and development programs.

  • Organize onboarding sessions and continuous learning initiatives to support employee growth.

6. Performance Management

  • Facilitate performance appraisal processes by scheduling reviews and maintaining records.

  • Support managers in implementing performance improvement plans and disciplinary procedures.

7. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.

  • Promote a positive workplace culture through staff engagement initiatives and wellness programs.

8. General HR Support

  • Provide administrative support for ongoing HR projects and organizational changes.

  • Prepare HR reports and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Proven experience in a similar HR Officer or Generalist role.

  • Strong understanding of core HR functions: recruitment, payroll, benefits, compliance, and training.

  • Knowledge of Ugandan labor laws and HR best practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) is an added advantage.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • HR certifications (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) are an added advantage.

  • High integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
