Job Title: Human Resources Officer (Full-time)

Job Summary:
The Human Resources Officer will play a vital role in supporting and implementing effective HR strategies, policies, and practices that foster a high-performance, employee-focused culture. This position is key to promoting productivity, professional growth, employee well-being, and a safe, compliant work environment. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with national and international labor laws and contribute to the university’s strategic objectives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Collect and analyze HR data to provide insights that guide strategic business decisions aligned with the university’s goals.
Support full recruitment and selection processes, including posting vacancies, shortlisting candidates, verifying documents, and coordinating appointments.
Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and university policies; facilitate inductions, placements, HRIS updates, and exit interviews.
Assist in planning and executing talent acquisition strategies by assessing departmental staffing needs and aligning recruitment with strategic priorities.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee remuneration, including salaries, statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, LST), overtime, terminal benefits, and allowances.
Oversee staff medical insurance administration, including application processing, issuance of medical cards, and regular reconciliation of beneficiary lists and premiums.
Coordinate HR projects and employee wellness initiatives such as fitness sessions, team-building events, sports galas, and staff sensitization campaigns.
Provide HR guidance and support to department heads and staff, ensuring adherence to university policies and employment laws.
Support employee relations programs to promote a positive and productive workplace.
Develop and monitor the HR department’s operational plan to align with broader institutional strategies.
Identify training needs and support learning and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career progression.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources.

Ability to work in a multicultural environment with excellent leadership and management skills.
