Job Title: HR Officer – Payments and Benefits

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and results-oriented HR professional to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The HR Officer – Payments and Benefits is responsible for managing all aspects of employee compensation, benefits, payroll processing, and time management systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employee satisfaction, compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and the accuracy of payroll and benefits records.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Administer the payroll process, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with statutory obligations.
Generate monthly payroll, overtime, and benefits reports for management decision-making.
Monitor and update overtime records and associated payroll components to manage labor costs effectively.
Address employee queries related to salaries, benefits, and deductions promptly and professionally.
Ensure accuracy in time and attendance records, in line with company policies and procedures.
Maintain up-to-date employee records—both physical and digital—to support HR operations and audits.
Update and manage employee information in SAP and Time & Attendance (TA) systems to ensure data integrity.
Coordinate with department supervisors to manage and approve staff leave, updating records in a timely manner.
Monitor employee welfare, health, and safety, and foster a positive working environment.
Work with line managers to track and report performance indicators at the individual and departmental levels.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
At least 5 years of HR experience, ideally in a fast-paced, manufacturing or industrial setting.
In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax laws, and Ugandan labor regulations.
Proficiency in SAP and Time & Attendance systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
