Job Description
The HR Officer will act as the first point of contact for employees on HR-related matters, advising line managers on employment law, policies, and disciplinary processes. Responsibilities include supporting recruitment and selection, conducting onboarding and induction, managing staff records, ensuring license renewals, and assisting with leave and training management. The HR Officer will also support employee engagement initiatives, oversee staff exits, and ensure compliance with corporate governance and HR policies. The role demands confidentiality, professionalism, and strong coordination to contribute effectively to the organization’s human capital strategy.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support recruitment and selection, lead interviews when required, and maintain interview data.
Advise staff and line managers on HR policies, employment law, and disciplinary procedures.
Coordinate onboarding, induction, and timely issuance of uniforms and name-tags.
Maintain staff information in HRMIS and personnel files (hard and soft copies).
Ensure annual professional licenses are processed and renewed.
Assist with leave planning and management.
Support Training Needs Analysis (TNA), training plans, scheduling, and attendance tracking.
Help staff understand job descriptions, roles, and performance expectations.
Facilitate employee engagement initiatives with line managers.
Oversee development of staff ROTA, time and attendance data, and payroll inputs.
Manage off-boarding, including exit interviews and clearance.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance, audit recommendations, and anti-fraud policies.
Uphold privacy and confidentiality in all HR functions.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR or a business-related field.
Relevant HR certification is an added advantage.
Registered member of IHRM in good standing.
Experience
At least 3 years of relevant HR experience in a corporate environment.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRMIS.
Excellent planning, organizing, tact, and diplomacy.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
