Job Description
Job Title: Human Resource Assistant (No Experience NGO Jobs)

DRC Uganda is currently looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Human Resource Assistant.
The overall purpose of the role:
The Human Resource Assistant supports the human resources department by handling HR administrative tasks, maintaining employee records, and assisting with recruitment, onboarding, off-boarding and benefits. The HR Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations and compliance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Organize for job interviews. This will include scheduling written tests and oral interviews, ensuring that the interview venues are well set, and availing computers if required, among others.
Scheduling HR events and meetings.
Maintaining employee records on SharePoint and personnel files.
Prepare payroll for casual workers.
Manage the staff exit process, ensuring staff are equipped with the right information and documentation, including issuing certificates of service.
Support with the onboarding process by preparing onboarding schedules, sending new hire packets, and relevant onboarding forms to new hires.
Support with the recruitment of Interns and Assistants.
Support with the recruitment of casual workers.
Prepare payslips for staff.
Prepare contracts for staff.
Support with the reference check process for new hires.
Update the HR trackers, including staff lists, joiners and leavers, and the recruitment tracker.
Any other related duties assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
To be successful in this role, we expect you to know the Ugandan labor and employment laws and regulations, and have human resources experience, preferably within the NGO sector. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
A bachelor’s degree in human resource management or Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Proficiency in MS Office
Exceptional organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective administration and people management skills
Full professional proficiency in English
