Job Description
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, and growth of Kimisitu Investment Company PLC. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic and business plans, monitoring performance, and ensuring sustainable competitive advantage. The role involves reporting to and advising the Board on financial and policy matters, maintaining governance standards, and leading the senior management team to deliver the company’s mission and objectives. Additionally, the General Manager will oversee human resources, financial management, risk mitigation, and business development while acting as the company’s chief spokesperson to stakeholders and the wider community.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Initiate, coordinate, and oversee the development of strategic and business plans.
Monitor and evaluate company performance against short- and long-term goals.
Keep the Board informed on financial status, opportunities, and challenges.
Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the senior management team.
Manage daily operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Oversee recruitment, motivation, evaluation, and development of staff.
Ensure sound financial policies, budgeting, reporting, and auditing practices.
Develop and execute marketing strategies to support growth.
Oversee investment activities and risk management processes.
Act as the company’s spokesperson, fostering stakeholder and community relations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or relevant professional qualifications is an added advantage.
Professional Qualifications
Membership in a recognized professional body in Kenya.
Experience
At least 10 years of related work experience.
Minimum of 5 years in a senior executive-level management position.
Skills and Attributes
Strong strategic and visionary leadership abilities.
Proven expertise in financial and operational management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and governance skills.
Ability to manage resources effectively and lead diverse teams.
High integrity, credibility, and professionalism.
