About the Organisation
The Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA) is one of nine Water Works Development Agencies established under Section 65 of the Water Act, 2016, through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 4 dated 7th February 2020. CRVWWDA is responsible for the development and maintenance of water and sanitation infrastructure across the counties of Nakuru, Narok, Laikipia, Baringo, and Nyandarua in Kenya.

Job Description
Engineer II is the entry and training grade for engineers. The role involves preparing designs, costing projects, managing contracts, and ensuring professional standards in water infrastructure development. The Engineer II will participate in feasibility studies, plan water storage and harvesting structures, supervise construction activities, evaluate technical bids, and ensure projects are completed within scope, schedule, and budget. The role also includes policy development and strategic planning relating to water infrastructure.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Preparing drawings and designs for tools, equipment, and water-related infrastructure.
Designing projects, project costing, and budgetary preparation.
Managing contracts, documentation, and professional standards compliance.
Preparing maintenance schedules for vehicles and plant machinery.
Designing water storage and sanitation infrastructure.
Preparing technical specifications and assisting in bid/proposal evaluations.
Conducting feasibility studies to assess new water sites and potential.
Preparing project proposals, schedules of quantities, and budget plans.
Supervising, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with water infrastructure contracts.
Preparing operational plans, policies, and strategies related to water development.
Managing tender processes and contractual claims.
Administering construction contracts and obtaining necessary project approvals and permits.
Participating in site visits, meetings, and project presentations.
Monitoring and controlling construction timelines and project budgets.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electro Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Registration as a Graduate Engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
Proficiency in computer applications.
Good knowledge of project management, water infrastructure development, and contract administration.
