Job Description
The role entails strategic account leadership across designated Pan African banking groups. The incumbent will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver Mastercard’s full suite of products and services, ensuring profitability, compliance, and customer delight. Responsibilities include budget management, contract negotiations, integrated solution delivery, marketing and business planning, and revenue accountability. The Director will lead business reviews, engage with top decision-makers, and drive innovation through deep industry insights and Mastercard expertise.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and grow relationships with Pan African banking groups across multiple subsidiaries.
Deliver against revenue and sales targets for Mastercard’s products and services.
Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with customer and Mastercard objectives.
Conduct business planning sessions and quarterly reviews with customers.
Oversee customer satisfaction and ensure delivery of integrated solutions.
Drive contract negotiations and manage account-level profitability (P&L).
Lead marketing, business development, and product management strategies.
Provide consultative insights aligned with Mastercard’s offerings and the customer’s goals.
Coordinate internal stakeholders to support complex customer requirements.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Monitor and ensure customer compliance with Mastercard’s security policies.
Travel frequently across Africa to engage clients and manage operations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
MBA preferred.
Experience:
Proven track record in sales within financial services, preferably in retail or consumer card business.
Deep knowledge of the card and payments industry.
Experience in managing complex, multi-market clients and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Competencies:
Strategic thinking and financial planning expertise (P&L, investment analysis).
Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
People management and team collaboration capabilities.
Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently across Africa.
