Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, and delivering results for the WHO-supported project. This includes executing the project’s vision and technical strategy, overseeing implementation, managing the project team, and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships. The role requires development of guidance and training materials, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and contributing to the broader WHO digital health strategy. The successful candidate will drive the achievement of project objectives, support digital health systems at the country level, and align implementation with WHO-ITU guidance and digital transformation frameworks.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Project Results:
Oversee and ensure timely implementation of project activities and deliverables.
Act as the main liaison with the donor (WHO) and ensure project goals are met.
Uphold financial, contractual, and political integrity.
Technical Strategy and Vision:
Lead the development of implementation plans, training materials, and tools.
Ensure timely and impactful documentation and dissemination of project deliverables.
Project and People Management:
Guarantee compliance with contract clauses, donor regulations, and internal SOPs.
Build and manage an effective project team with strong performance management practices.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
Build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, subcontractors, and beneficiaries.
Monitor new business opportunities and communicate them internally.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Advanced degree in Public Health, Digital Health, or a health-related field.
Desirable: Degree in informatics, computer science, regulatory policy, biomedical engineering, medicine, nursing, or pharmacy.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in digital health, focusing on digital solutions, interoperability standards, and regulatory frameworks.
At least 5 years’ experience working in healthcare settings, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
Competencies:
Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to develop training materials and technical documentation.
Strategic thinker with excellent communication and mentoring capabilities.
Experience working with international donors and multilateral organizations is an asset.
