Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.

Empty trash receptacles and replace liners; ensure waste is properly sorted and disposed of according to university guidelines.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, and worn-out equipment.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks including changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, and addressing other facility-related concerns.
Report major maintenance needs and safety hazards to the Facilities Manager or appropriate personnel.

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training in maintenance, cleaning, or related fields is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of custodial or janitorial experience in an educational or similar institutional setting.
Experience with the use of various cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals.
Basic maintenance skills for routine repair tasks.
Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete assigned duties.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant position at Muni University. Typed application letters should be submitted in triplicate to the University Secretary, Muni University, P. O. Box 725, Arua, or the Kampala Liaison office in Makerere University Lincoln House A1 to be received not later than Monday 16th, September 2024 at 5:00pm.
The application letter should bear the title of the post and the reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should attach three sets of certified photocopies of their Academic Documents and
Professional Certificates, National Identity Card and three recent passport size photographs, a typed and signed CV, evidence of previous employment (contract document(s), appointment letter(s) and Certificate(s) of Service) and any other relevant documents. Where it is required, applicants for academic positions should attach evidence of publications and graduate research supervision.
