Job Description
The Country IT Specialist will be responsible for overseeing ICT infrastructure and systems in Tanzania, ensuring alignment with corporate service plans and organizational needs. Reporting to the Head of Finance and IT and the Regional ICT Director, the specialist will provide strategic leadership in ICT service delivery, infrastructure management, and digital transformation. The role includes managing ICT budgets, ensuring data protection, maintaining business continuity, and overseeing ICT security and risk management. The successful candidate will lead the deployment of innovative ICT solutions to enhance Plan International’s operations, serving over 150 ICT users across the Country Office and Programme Units.

How to Apply
Provide strategic and operational leadership of ICT services, infrastructure, and digital transformation.
Deliver ICT infrastructure and services to over 150 ICT users across the Country Office and Programme Units.
Manage ICT budgets (approx. €150,000 annually), including financial planning and resource allocation.
Ensure business continuity, IT security, and risk management are in place and effective.
Oversee ICT systems including desktops, laptops, servers, tablets, printers, routers/switches, and hubs.
Support corporate applications such as ERP systems and HR information systems.
Ensure proper software licensing and compliance.
Manage internet connectivity, troubleshooting, and escalations with ISPs.
Serve as Data Protection Officer and Data Privacy focal point for the country.
Lead ICT4D (ICT for Development) initiatives to improve programme efficiency and innovation.
Train and support staff in ICT tools and systems to enhance effectiveness.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in ICT management, infrastructure, or systems administration.
Proven experience in managing IT security, risk management, and business continuity planning.
Strong understanding of ICT budgeting and financial planning.
Hands-on knowledge of ICT hardware, software, and corporate applications.
Experience with ERP, HRIS, and network management systems.
Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations.
Experience in ICT4D initiatives is an added advantage.
