Job Description
The Corporate Tax Manager will play a critical role in managing TMA’s tax obligations across all its country offices. The role involves filing and reconciling tax returns (WHT, PAYE, CIT), optimizing VAT exemptions, reviewing financial statements for tax impact, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. The manager will liaise closely with tax advisors, support tax audits, and lead strategic tax planning initiatives. In addition, the role involves building internal capacity through training, enhancing the tax control environment, and contributing to broader organizational governance, risk, and compliance efforts.

How to Apply
Prepare monthly withholding tax schedules and coordinate timely filing and payment.
Coordinate Corporate Income Tax filing across TMA countries.
Perform monthly reconciliations for PAYE and WHT.
Review consolidated and standalone financial statements for tax implications.
Ensure proper application and utilization of tax exemptions under Host Country Agreements.
Maintain compliance with regulatory reporting related to financial statements.
Act as a central liaison with tax advisors on compliance and advisory matters.
Ensure accurate documentation and record management of all tax-related files.
Oversee and respond to tax audits and institutional/donor audits related to tax.
Support strategic tax planning and develop tax control frameworks.
Design and implement TMA’s tax policy framework.
Create and lead tax training programs for Finance, Operations, and other teams.
Promote risk awareness and ensure compliance with all relevant risk and control frameworks.
Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation of lessons learned, and uphold TMA’s values.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, anti-corruption, and zero-tolerance policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (postgraduate qualification preferred).
Professional certification in taxation or accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 7 years of tax experience for bachelor’s degree holders, or 5 years for postgraduate holders.
Experience working in international institutions with multi-country operations.
Familiarity with tax laws in multiple countries and international tax planning.
Competencies and Skills:
Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax laws.
High analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems.
Strategic thinking with integrity and credibility.
Ability to handle pressure and adapt to evolving tax regulations.
