Job Description
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the overall financial management of Microhaem Scientifics, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and financial risk management. The CFO will provide strategic leadership to the finance department, guide investment planning, oversee audit and tax processes, and ensure effective internal controls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior financial roles and a strong understanding of international financial systems, regulatory requirements, and best practices in financial governance.

How to Apply
Lead the finance department and oversee the development of financial strategies.
Prepare, monitor, and report on annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Provide accurate and timely financial statements and performance reports.
Manage financial risks, cash flow, and investment planning.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Supervise financial reporting and the implementation of financial systems.
Advise executive management on financial planning and business development opportunities.
Ensure sound internal control systems and recommend improvements.
Liaise with stakeholders, regulators, and financial institutions on financial matters.

Bachelor’s (Honors) degree in Accounting or Finance.
Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
Must possess a professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, or ICSA.
Membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) is mandatory.
At least 8 years of work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior financial management role in a busy reputable private or multinational company.
Knowledge of international financing systems is an added advantage.
Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
