Job Description
Reporting to the Technical Manager - Locum, the Community & PSS Advisor will lead and support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of integrated community-based health programs, including HIV testing, TB care, psychosocial support, and PMTCT services. They will coordinate efforts between facilities and communities to ensure effective case finding, linkage to care, treatment adherence, and psychosocial well-being of clients. The Advisor will also participate in data analysis and use, support community health workers, and document learnings, success stories, and best practices in supported districts.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate integrated community programming for HIV, TB, PMTCT/EID, and PSS services.
Support and guide community health workers in HIV/TB screening, linkage to care, and treatment support at both facility and community levels.
Participate in data analysis and performance reviews to drive improvements in community and psychosocial service delivery.
Lead the development of work plans, master concepts, budgets, and activity reports.
Ensure targeted case finding and linkage to ART services for children, adolescents, and adults.
Support appointment-keeping systems and return-to-care strategies.
Coordinate the skilling of Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) on PSS and other community health interventions.
Oversee community-based support for treatment adherence, especially for non-suppressed clients and TB treatment completion.
Document and share program learnings, success stories, and abstracts.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, Health, or Nursing.
A postgraduate qualification in Project Management or a Master's in Public Health is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in donor-funded HIV/TB programs.
Strong experience working with local governments and district health systems.
Proficient in data analysis and data use for decision-making.
Strong coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel and work in rural settings.
