Vacancy Title: Branch Manager – Gulu Branch

Duty Station: Gulu, Uganda
KCB Bank Uganda Limited is seeking an experienced and dynamic Branch Manager to lead operations at our Gulu Branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Drive branch business growth, customer acquisition, and retention to enhance profitability and revenue generation.
Ensure strict adherence to all operational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and manage branch expenses within approved budgets.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team by identifying training needs and supporting professional growth.
Implement and uphold service delivery standards across all touchpoints.
Ensure compliance with credit and operational risk frameworks, maintaining a high-quality asset and liability portfolio to reduce non-performing assets.
Oversee reconciliation and monitoring of suspense accounts, including general ledger accounts.
Ensure timely and accurate appraisal of customer applications.
Manage staff performance, leave planning, and submission of Balanced Scorecards (B.S.C).
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through direct interactions, business forums, and client visits.
Oversee branch asset safety, facility maintenance, and general branch administration.
Conduct regular operational checks in line with internal controls and the operations manual.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field is required.
Additional training in sales leadership is an added advantage.
Professional Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of progressive banking experience, including:
2 years in Business Banking
2 years in Relationship Management
1 year in Banking Operations
1 year in Customer Service
Key Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies in competitive markets.
Customer-focused with conflict resolution and complaint-handling experience.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently, manage people, and deliver results through influence.
